PEQUOD's "False Divinity" draws inspiration from an era when equal influence could be drawn from MORBID ANGEL and SLAYER, when Thrash wasn't a dirty word to a Death Metal freak, and when memorable songs meant more than the endless race to be faster or more ludicrously guttural. "False Divinity" is a churning, double-kick-heavy midtempo crusher of a release, with its blast beats and divebombing whammy bar solos, with quick picking and stop-on-a-dime changes, a nonstop assault that gives the release its heart-attack intensity.
Mixed by Fredrik Folkare (Unleashed, Necrophobic) at Chrome Studios (Sweden), mastered by Peter In de Betou (Meshuggah, Opeth, Amon Amarth) at Tailor Maid Music Production (Sweden) "False Divinity" will be available July 5th as a FREE Download via their bandcamp site.

A little about PEQUOD:
PEQUOD formed early 1998 in Munich, Germany. The band name originates from Captain Ahab’s ship, who is the tragic hero in Herman Melvilles Moby Dick (1851).
Having individual musical backgrounds (as former musicians of f.e. Darkseed), the band members combined heavy and extreme metal styles to form their highly explosive sound.
After some lineup changes the arrangements evolved into powerful rhythm-oriented death-thrash metal, loaded with sophisticated and nonetheless melodic riffing. Powerful, progressive drumming as well as the frontmans striking voice put the finishing touch to the sound of this very creative band. In short, the “Vortic-Death-Thrash” Pequod performs can be described as Bay Area Thrash meets Swedish Death Metal. In 2010 the Pequod dropped anchor in Munichs Dreamsound Studios to record their first full length album titled “Forgotten”.
In early 2016 the Pequod will set sails under its banner to conquer the metal shores worldwide.
For the recording sessions – engineered by Jan Vacik – the band was able to recruit the well- known extreme metal artists Steffen Kummerer (Obscura, Thulcandra) and Daniel Droste (Ahab, Ex-Midnattsol) for guest vocals.
During countless live-performances with established bands like Pro Pain, Napalm Death, Origin, Dismember, God Dethroned, Dew-Scented, Exhumed, Darkest Hour, Malevolent Creation, Vader, Graveworm, Tankard, Cephalic Carnage, Illdisposed and many others, Pequod convinced the metalheads with their professional and powerful performance – and kicked some ass. The five band members are known for their expressive stage acting, despite their flawless and compact song writing.
